Skyla Alaina Carroll is a dedicated and driven young woman completing her senior year at Miami International Academy. Throughout her academic journey, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence, including participating in dual enrollment courses at Miami Dade College. Through this experience, Skyla successfully balanced college-level coursework while completing her high school studies, further reflecting her determination and academic discipline.

Skyla has been actively involved in both her school and community. She proudly served as a member of Miami Edison Senior High School’s band auxiliary flag team, the Blaze Spinners, where she showcased teamwork, discipline, and school spirit.

Faith and worship are central parts of Skyla’s life. Since the age of five, she has assisted clergy in various church services at Historic St. Agnes Episcopal Church and throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida as an acolyte. Her dedication and faithful service were recognized when she received the honor of Acolyte of the Year, reflecting her leadership, reliability, and devotion within her faith community. Skyla is actively involved in several areas of church life, including Junior Daughters of the King, Black History Lead Participant, the St. Agnes Bell Choir, and the Hospitality Guild. She finds great joy in serving at her church and worshiping God, both of which play an important role in shaping her character and values. She is especially inspired whenever the hymn “Have a Little Talk With Jesus” is part of a service, as that hymn, along with Psalms 27, reminds her that God is the source of her strength and help.

Beyond academics and faith, Skyla is deeply committed to her community. She is a devoted member of Girl Scouts of the USA Troop #1877, Lamplighters, and participates in the mentoring program sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as an Ivy Rosette. Through these organizations, she continues to develop leadership skills, give back to her community, and grow as a young woman of character and purpose.

After graduation, Skyla plans to attend college and pursue a degree in nursing. She has already been accepted to Bethune-Cookman University, St. Thomas University, and Florida International University. Passionate about helping others, she is determined to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field. In addition to her academic and service pursuits, Skyla enjoys cooking, dancing, and finding ways to uplift those around
her.

Skyla is deeply grateful for her family, especially her parents: father, Steven Carroll and mother, Audrey Strachan, whose constant encouragement inspires her to keep growing and striving for excellence each day. She is equally thankful for her mentors, whose guidance and motivation continue to help her remain focused, grounded, and committed to success. With faith, determination, and a heart for service, Skyla Alaina Carroll is poised to make a lasting and positive difference in the lives of those around her.
